Connie Rothmaler Class of 1969

06/27/51 ~ 11/24/2021

Today will be a somber Thanksgiving for my family. We lost my sister Connie Rothmaler Haller yesterday after a serious condition that lasted two weeks. She’ll always be the big sister who looked after me as a kid, who beat me up when I was a pest, who broke my parents in as a teenager so that me and my siblings didn’t have to blaze the trail ourselves, who gave me my first car, who became the unlikely country girl in Iowa after she got married, who became the seamstress par excellence and made countless homemade gifts and most of all, lived her life fully and had fun every day. In my mind, I’ll never forget the image of the black and white pic that I took of her with the hand-me-down brownie camera, the blooming lilacs wrapped around her in the back yard, her youthful beauty and innocence so evident or the team picture of Gymkana at WHS 1969. She leaves behind a grieving husband who did all her could do in her final weeks, two children, 8 grandchildren, our mom, 5 siblings and aunts, uncles and cousins. I’m thankful for her full life and great memories. – Stephen Rothmaler
