Aron Wahrman Class of 1976

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that Aron peacefully passed away this morning at 67 years old.

A devoted husband to Peggy, loving father to Becky, Louis, Allie and Abe, Kyra, and Hope, doting Zayde to Ezra, exceptional plastic surgeon and mentor, and an avid book-lover and collector, Aron touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, humor, and companionship. He will be deeply missed. The funeral service will take place this Sunday, August 10 at 11 AM at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, 19004. Aron D. Wahrman, a physician and Divisional Head of Plastic Surgery, passed away at his home on August 7, 2025. An active clinician and teacher in plastic surgery, hand surgery, and advanced wound care, Aron was dedicated to teaching medical students and taking care of patients across the Veterans Administration Medical Center, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Tower Health/Chestnut Hill Hospital, and in his solo medical research and consulting practice. He received his B.A. from Columbia University and his M.D. from Yale University, before moving to and setting roots in Philadelphia for his general surgery residency and fellowship programs at Penn and CHOP. He also graduated with an MBA from Temple University and a Master’s Degree focused on Health Care Delivery Science from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He was honored by his peers and served as president of Pennsylvania’s Robert H Ivy State Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as elected to the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. An avid rare book and art collector, he was a board member of the Yale School of Medicine Cushing/Whitney Library, the Mutter Museum, the Library Company of Philadelphia, and an elected member of the prestigious Grolier Club and the Philadelphia College of Physicians. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, his children Rebecca, Allison, Abe, Louis, Kyra, Hope, and his grandson, Ezra. In his memory, donations may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project in support of Aron’s tireless devotion to serving our veterans. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 10, at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA, 19004 at 11 AM.
