Virginia Ann Martin

Virginia “Ginny” Martin passed away on Friday, February 13th at the age of 74 in Wilmington, North Carolina.

She was born on July 20, 1951 in Rochester, PA, to James and Eloise Taylor. She was the second of four daughters. She grew up in Long Island NY, and moved to Columbus, Ohio to pursue higher education.

Ginny attended the Columbus College of Art and Design, and earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1974. While she started her career in graphic design, her many talents and passions led her to work for churches, newspapers, and local Columbus businesses in many different areas.

She never forgot the joy she found in painting, and her love of the arts followed her everywhere she went. She loved participating in church choir, taking art classes, and reading voraciously. Her final years were spent happily in Wilmington NC, where she visited the beaches often.

She is survived by many family members who will miss her kindness and love of life:

**Her husband of 22 years, Richard Martin; three step-children and five step-grandchildren.

**Her two sons, Aaron Bensing of Columbus, OH and Nathan Bensing of Philadelphia, PA, and granddaughter Nora.

**Her three sisters, Linda Carey of Columbus, OH, Mary Falkowski of Philadelphia, PA, and Jennifer Tony of New Hope, PA, and seven nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at North Broadway United Methodist Church in Columbus Ohio on Feb 28, at 1pm. Afterwards, there will be a small family ceremony where she will be laid to rest at Malvern Cemetery in Morrison, Illinois with her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be given in her name to the Blood Cancer United (bloodcancerunited.org).
