February 5, 1947 ~ January 6, 2026
Dolores was born on February 10, 1947 in Harlem, NY to Johnny and Dora Giordano. Johnny and Dora were hard working first generation Italian immigrants who were eager to give their children a better life. They moved Dolores and her brother, Dom, to the Bronx and then Wantagh, where her brother John was born.
Dolores loved living in Wantagh and it was during junior high orientation that she met her future husband, Jeff Margolis. They dated through high school and college and went on to marry and have two children, Jordan and Meryl.
Dolores was also a school social worker and advocated for children throughout her career. She was a true champion for those in need.
Most of all, Dolores loved being a grandmother or “Nanny.’ Her four grandchildren Max, Bella, Leo and Cici, will cherish all of their memories with her.
Dolores will be remembered as an amazing mother, wife, grandmother, and social worker who lived her life true to her faith and virtues.
