Obituary of David P. Ludwig

David Ludwig, age 67, of Honeoye Falls NY, passed away Monday December 12, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathleen Rinere, daughters Rachel and Brenda, and son Kevin. He is also survived by brother Steven Ludwig and sister Patricia Morch, many nieces and nephews, a supportive extended family, and an amazing group of friends. Born August 18, 1949 in Freeport NY, David was the son of the late Frank and Evelyn Ludwig. He grew up swimming at Jones Beach near his hometown of Wantagh, NY, which led to his lifelong love of sunshine and the ocean. He graduated from SUNY Brockport where he met his wife and best friend, Kathy. He received his teaching certificate in 1972. After college he worked at Kodak for 30 years, Graver Technologies for 6 years, and most recently at the HF-L Middle school cafeteria where he knew the name of every kid in his line. David was an active member of the HF-L community and St. Paul of the Cross Church, where he sang with the choir. He was happiest spending time with family and friends, especially camping and porch parties. He loved nature, animals and gardening. Together, David and Kathy took great pleasure in cooking and sharing their table with others. David will be remembered for his easygoing nature and kind, warmhearted smile. A loving and supportive teacher, father, and friend.
