December 18, 1949 ~ April 7, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother, Frederick (Fred) Charles Held of Secaucus, New Jersey, who passed away comfortably on April 7th, 2022 at the age of 72 in Englewood Hospital after a long illness.

Fred was born in 1949 to Lawrence and Selma Held and raised in Wantagh, NY. He spent much of his 45 year career as a trader and stockbroker on Wall Street. He began his career with Hornblower & Weeks in 1968, moving on to Bache & Co., First Boston & Co., Dillon, Read & Co., Inc., retiring from the firm of Brean, Murray, Carret. He was married to Terry McDonald in 1995.

He is survived by his loving wife Terry, daughters Stephanie and Alexis, son Jason (Candace), two grandchildren, Sebastian and Xavier, and brothers Jon, Peter and David and their families.

Fred had a lifelong enjoyment & knowledge of history, sports & current events which provided him with a wide avenue for conversation. He often expressed his good fortune in having many loving friends and family. They will miss his commentary on the day’s events, sports and financial news, all tendered with a humorous and humane perspective.

Fred is being cared for by Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus, New Jersey.
