Remembered by Mike Skliar class of 1978 Susan Skliar Ricken, was a reading teacher at Wantagh junior high school from about 1970 to about 1985. She was the cocreator of the “reading lab“ which helped many remedial reading students during those years. During most of her teaching life she was known as Mrs. Skliar, she remarried in 1984 to Bob Ricken, who at the time was the Mineola superintendent of schools and who she met while pursuing her degree in educational administration. She was born in 1936 in Brooklyn and died in early July 2023 and will be greatly missed by all.
