January 3, 1944 ~ January 21, 2026

The family of Jane Boreman, a member of the Class of 1961, is saddened to announce that she passed away on January 21, 2026. Jane lived a full and wonderful life marked by a deep commitment to education, public service, and learning.

After graduating from Wake Forest University and earning her master’s degree from Duke University, Jane taught high school English in Rosman, North Carolina, for many years. Her love of language and culture later took her abroad, where she spent several years teaching English in Kamakura, Japan. Upon returning to the United States, Jane settled in Washington, D.C., where she devoted her talents to public service, working as a congressional staffer for Representative Tom Tauke, Senator Nancy Kassebaum, and Representative Fred Upton.
