February 18, 1957 ~ January 22, 2026

Mark Scofield, 68, of Bolivia, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026,

surrounded by the family and friends he loved so dearly.

For 41 years, Mark was the devoted husband to his “best girl,” Eileen (Corrigan). He was the

loving father of James (Kelly) and Keith, and the immensely proud “Pop” of his grandson,

Cooper James. The son of the late Jim and Isabelle Scofield, Mark is survived by his sisters, Pat

Martin (the late Lee) and Sue Wanerka (Glenn), and was predeceased by his sister, Isabelle

(Rob). He remains a cherished uncle to many.

As the proprietor of Otto’s Deli for over 40 years, Mark’s work ethic was matched only by his

dedication to the Wantagh community.

A lifelong lover of the water—a passion sparked by his parents—he was happiest when boating

or fishing. Mark was the glue of his social circles, meticulously planning backpacking trips and

winter weekends to keep childhood and college friendships alive.

He set a high bar for what it means to be a friend and a family man. We are better for having

known him. We will miss him, but he will be in our hearts forever.

Fair winds and following seas.

Until we meet again.
