March 15, 1961 ~ April 18, 2026

Patrick McDonald, of Wantagh, New York, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, and is now resting in the loving embrace of the Lord.

A true New Yorker to his core, Patrick was an avid baseball fan, who enjoyed cheering for the Mets. He had a deep passion for rock music and an impressive knowledge of its history. He enjoyed strumming on his guitar. And despite no formal training, Patrick was a naturally gifted artist with a heightened sensitivity to the beauty around him. This art bridged connections Patrick had with his many nieces and nephews: whether it was teaching them a chord progression on his guitar or sketching a picture together, “Uncle Pat’s” ability to capture goodness in the world resonated with them.

In difficult times, Patrick never surrendered his integrity, and in the past few years of his life, he found purpose through helping others. His friends knew him as “the driver.” Patrick used his success story to enrich the lives of others, as his gentle and quiet kindness exemplified what loyalty is.

He is survived by his siblings Mary Nappo (Frank deceased), Colleen Mauceri, Thomas and Doreen McDonald, Terrence and Diane McDonald, Elinor and Russell Jeffery, sister in law Lisa McDonald, cousins Kevin and Laura McDonald, and Bob McDonald, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elinor and Thomas, and his siblings, Charlie McDonald (Lisa) and Gail Meier (Ralph deceased).

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moloney Funeral Home Central Islip 130 Carleton Ave, Central Islip, NY 11722.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Frances de Chantal RC Church, 1309 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh, NY 11793, on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 10:45 AM.

Patrick will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

  1. I remember Patrick drawing as a kind at St Francis. The nuns use to get on him for drawing. He would draw something sho it to you and exterior he drew and laugh. Glad he kept drawing through his life.
