June 2, 1953  –  July 10, 2026

Robert John McCreedy passed away on July 10, 2026. He was born on June 2, 1953 in New York City, New York to Robert Joseph McCreedy and Helen O’Brien. He was a resident of Okeechobee for over 33 years. Robert was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran and lived by the Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful, in every aspect of his life. Robert enjoyed biking, photography, watching classic movies, listening to rock ‘n’ roll music. Robert could usually be found immersed in a book, particularly deep historical non-fiction, or keeping a sharp, analytical eye on current events and U.S. politics. He also shared his home and his heart with his cherished dogs and cats, who brought him comfort and joy throughout his years.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph McCreedy; mother, Helen O’Brien.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Carolyn (Kulwicki) McCreedy; son, Robert Jerome McCreedy; sisters, Catherine DiPietro (Michael) of Seaford, New York, Mary Ellen Baker (Warren) of New Town, Connecticut; niece, Emily Ramirez (Ivan); and nephew, Michael V. DiPietro (Michelle).

The family requests that memorial donations be made in Robert McCreedy’s honor to Hospice of Okeechobee (www.chaptershealth.org/locations/the-hamrick-home) or the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org), two organizations that reflect his final care and his enduring brotherhood with fellow veterans.

No services will be held at this time.
