HERSTIN, Scott Webster A semi-retired investment manager, passed away in April at the age of 75 in Naples, FL. Scott was born in the country of Limerick, Ireland to Alice and Frank Herstin. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Judith.

Scott received his bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Yale University in New Haven, CT. He later received his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Upon graduation, Scott moved to Boston and began a long, successful career in banking and asset management. He and his family moved to Naples when his two daughters were in high school. Scott was an alumni of the Greater Naples Leadership Class VII, served for many years as a trustee and Vice President of the Yale Club of Southwest Florida, served on the Investment Committee of the Community Foundation of Collier County, supported the Shelter for Abused Women and Children, and was currently a director and secretary of the Naples Players Endowment Board. Upon retiring from U.S. Trust, Scott displayed a wanderlust spirit, with travel including Norway, China, New Zealand, Las Vegas, the Carolinas, Saratoga and day trips to Gulfstream with his dear friends. Scott enjoyed the company of others over a meal where lively conversation flowed from his diverse friends.

Scott is survived by his two daughters, Sara (Dirk) of New York and Hillary (Kerr) of Massachusetts; one granddaughter, and four grandsons. They ask that anyone wishing to contribute in his memory do so to the National Kidney Foundation, the Shelter for Abused Women and Children of Naples, or their favorite charity.
