30 January, 1932 – 13 August, 2020

Rita Moses, 88, was a retired elementary school teacher who lived and worked in

Wantagh, NY. After the death of her beloved husband, Paul Moses, Rita moved

to Rockville Centre, NY in order to be closer to the family of her daughter

Carolyn, son-in-law David, and grandchild Gillian. Rita spent many years

enjoying the snowbird lifestyle until making the permanent move to Delray

Beach, FL in the 2010’s. She passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, after

a long illness.

Rita was born on January 30, 1932 in New York City to David and Pauline

Goldberg. The family lived in and around Manhattan until moving to Woodmere,

NY when Rita was a teenager. She went to college in Ohio for 2 years before

finishing her Bachelor’s degree back in New York at NYU, and then earned a

Master’s degree in Education at Hofstra University. Rita was a loving wife and

mother who enjoyed teaching as well as an active social life, travelling the globe

with her husband and going to the theater, ballet, and classical music

performances.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents David and Pauline Goldberg; her

husband Paul, and a daughter, Debra. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn,

her granddaughters Gillian and Rebecca, her grandson Matthew, and two sisters;

Ilene and Linda. A funeral service will be scheduled at the Star of David

Memorial Gardens Cemetery, at 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, to concur

with the unveiling of her headstone next year.
