William Joseph Berlese , affectionately known as Billy, was born on April 14, 1971, and passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2025. He leaves behind a sea of family, friends, and loved ones who cherished his generous spirit, unwavering love, and deep passion for the water.
Born to Josephine and William Berlese Sr., Billy grew up surrounded by the strength and support of a close-knit family. He was a devoted son, a protective older brother to Joey Berlese (wife Melissa) and Laura Vetere (husband Vinny), and a steadfast friend to many.
Billy had a lifelong love of the sea a connection sparked by early mornings on the water with his Grandpa and Uncle Jack, and nurtured by countless fishing trips with his brother Joey. To Billy, the ocean was more than a hobby; it was a place of peace, reflection, and spiritual connection.
In recent years, Billy found joy and companionship with his beloved partner, Sheri Cartlidge, and her daughter, Caitlyn Seaman, whom he adored. Together, they built a life full of laughter, loyalty, and unconditional love. They were his harbor his calm in lifes storms.
Billy was most recently employed at Atlantic Chevrolet, where he worked in sales. He took pride in his work and in the relationships he formed with both colleagues and customers.
Those who knew Billy will remember him for his kind heart, his steady faith, his quiet strength, and his ability to listen with true presence. He lived his life anchored in love for his family, his faith, and the sea.
He is survived by his parents, Josephine and William Berlese Sr.; his siblings Joey Berlese (Melissa) and Laura Vetere (Vinny); his partner Sheri Cartlidge and her daughter Caitlyn Seaman; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews: Giuliana Vetere, Delaney Berlese, Bianca Vetere, and Luciano Vetere. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Billys journey may have led him to another shore, but his spirit remains forever present in the tides, in the wind, and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
